BER (BUILDING ENERGY RATING)

What is BER?

The BER is an energy label for buildings similar to those used on electrical appliances. The scale runs from red to green with those in the red zone indicating homes that use the most energy.
All new homes for which planning permission has been sought after 1st January 2007 must have a BER before they can be put up for rent or sold.
Furthermore the legislation will apply to all dwellings, new or otherwise,
Being put for rent or sold after 1st January 2009.

Energy audit

To receive a Building Energy Rating, an audit will have to be carried out on your premises. Craftech Renewable Energy has approved assessors who can carry out these audits. Upon completion a certificate can be issued or where necessary some simple advise on how to improve the energy rating of your premises.
