Craftech Products: Woodburning Technology
Wood is a renewable energy source. With trees recycling carbon dioxide wood burning doesn’t have an adverse effect on the environment. Wood burning boilers, furnaces and stoves are in fact carbon neutral. With the development of modern day combustion technologies a lot more heat is developed with a lot less smoke.
Wood Pellet Boilers
The pellets that are burned in these boilers are produced by high pressure pressing of wood waste. Pellets are produced to various sizes and diameters but the most common size produced is 6, 8 and 9 mm diameter and 5 to 25mm long. The heating value of these pellets is between 17-19 mj/kg. The boilers need some element of storage, whether it is a small hopper beside the boiler or a larger silo with an auger arrangement to move the pellets from the silo to the boiler. They can be retro fitted into an existing heating system and are a highly efficient, sustainable energy source.
