Craftech Products: Heat Pumps
Heat is widely available in the ground, air and water around us. These natural resources are replenished daily around your house by sun, wind and rain. The heat pump will use these natural resources to heat your house and provide hot water. Heat pumps pump heat from a low temperature source, air or the ground for example, and deliver it at a higher temperature in your central heating system.
Air to water heat pumps
Air to water heat pumps derives energy from the air. Even air temperatures as cold as – 20c have heat available from its ambient air.
Air to water units can be installed indoors or outdoors. They are cost effective in comparison to ground units as there are no ground works necessary. Air units are 100% efficient down to temperatures of 0c and are easily boosted for the days of the year that drop below that.
Ground to water heat pumps
Heat pumps draw solar energy that is stored under the ground. Depending on the area available flexible collector tubes are buried under the ground.
Anti freeze and water mix is pumped through the pipe. If the area available is large enough the tubes can be laid horizontally at a dept of approx. 1.2 m and .75m apart. If space is not available the collector tubes can be installed in a borehole drilled 100m into the ground. Ground temperatures are consistent so the heat pump can deliver an efficient heating system.
